ANIMAL THERAPIE - LAURA BALZER

Canine and equine Physiotherapy

Dry Needling for horses

Taping for horses

Welcome

Hallo, mein Name ist Laura Balzer. Ich bin zertifizierte Physiotherapeutin für Hund, Katze und Pferd.

During a post-university year abroad in Canada, I worked with sled dogs and came into contact with physiotherapy for dogs for the first time. I also worked under a horse trainer in Manitoba, and became increasingly aware of how important the holistic view of the animal is for healthy development, for training and in everyday life.

Working with animals has become very close to my heart and it is for that reason that I decided to become an equine and canine physiotherapist myself. I completed my training in 2023 in Germany. Since then I have attended several seminars to expand my knowledge and have started my further education as a veterinary practitioner.

With a healthy body, comes the fun of training and the desire to move and enjoy all that life has to offer. I look forward to helping your pet regain the joy of exercise and pain-free movement.

Does your pet need physiotherapy?

Are you unsure as to whether your pet will benefit from physiotherapy? The primary aims of physiotherapy are to relieve pain, improve quality of life, and restore natural range of movement.
During treatment, movement restrictions are resolved and weakened muscles are reconditioned. This also improves endurance and overall mobility. What can physiotherapy help to treat?

  • Recovery from surgery (e.g. cruciate ligament rupture), rebuilding damaged muscles
  • Restricted range of movement, muscle tension
  • Coordination and balance issues
  • Loss of performance
  • reluctance to move
  • Pain
  • Ligament and tendon problems
  • Preventative screening
  • Assisting geriatric patients with maintaining joint mobility
  • Behavioural abnormalities
  • Sensitive backs
  • Returning to training after a break

Still not sure whether or not your pet needs treatment? Feel free to contact me to talk through your pet’s current situation! Together we will find out what is best for your four-legged friend.
